Work Step by Step
Interphase contains three phases: G1, S, and G2. During the G1 phase, the cell increases in size, synthesizes proteins, and makes sure it has enough ribosomes to proceed to the S phase. The S phase occurs when the cell makes another copy of its DNA. Finally, in G2, some organelles are multiplied, and more proteins are synthesized.
