The two types of active transport are molecular and bulk transport.
Work Step by Step
Molecular transport is through the use of protein pumps located on the cell membrane. These pumps go against the concentration gradient. Bulk transport includes both endocytosis and exocytosis. Endocytosis is when a substance is taken into the cell. Forms of endocytosis are phagocytosis and pinocytosis. Exocytosis is when substances are excreted outside of the cell.
