Lots of fat, protein, and cholesterol provides the developing chick with lots of energy (fats), lipid subunits (fats) and amino acids (proteins) to build membranes and proteins in the cells of the chick, and the cholesterol helps to build signal molecules as well as to regulate membrane fluidity.
