Human and fungal nutrition work in very different ways. Fungi digest material outside their own bodies and absorb the material from there, while humans ingest food and digest it internally, absorbing nutrients there. One commonality is that the digestion is outside the cells of both of these organisms, and both are heterotrophs.

Think about your own consumption of food: you don't roll in it and secrete enzymes. But fungi do something like that, growing through their food and digesting it via secreted enzymes.
