Chapter 12 - 12.2 - Concept Check - Page 244: 6

Answer

Actin and tubulin interact with a wide range of proteins to provide cell shape, cell motility and contraction, and organellar movement. The most obvious proteins with which they interact are the motor proteins which generate force (myosin for actin and kinesin and dynein for microtubules).

Work Step by Step

Review Ch. 6 for a summary figure listing these functions, and see the text nearby to help make a list of interacting proteins.
