Answer

a. natriuretic peptide

Work Step by Step

Hypertension is likely to increase the secretion of natriuretic peptide. Natriuretic peptide inhibits sodium and water reabsorption and the secretion of renin and ADH. This causes increase in urine output, which in turn lowers blood volume and blood pressure. Aldosterone has little effect on urine output, blood volume, and blood pressure. Antidiuretic hormone kicks in when blood pressure is low. ADH increases sodium and water reabsorption and increases blood volume and pressure.
