Answer

The importance of using a control group: The use of a control group in an experiment is necessary because it helps in comparing effects of different treatments on the response variable. A control group is used in the experiment when there is more than one treatment applied to the subjects of the experiment. Control groups help in the comparison of the effect of different treatments on the response variable. The control group can be used as a baseline treatment. The importance of using blinding: Blinding is introduced in the experiment so that the subjects cannot change themselves according to the treatment and the researcher is able to get a response without any adjustments. Blinding in an experiment is used when the respondents do not know about the treatment applied, or both the respondent and the researcher do not know about the treatment. So, the respondents cannot modify themselves according to the treatment. It helps the researcher in collecting the response that is unaffected due to the knowledge of the treatment.
