The following figure shows the histograms for each of the data set. Comparing the two histograms, we can see that there were more states in the percentage ranges of 22.5-27.5 and 37.5-42.5 (at or above the required proficiency levels) in math than those in reading. While in the percentage ranges of 17.5-22.5 and 27.5-37.5, the situation is reversed, there were more states doing well in reading than those in math.
