Chapter 2 - Section 2.3 - Getting Information from the Graph of a Function - 2.3 Exercises - Page 180: 47

Answer

Local maximum $(-0.58,0.39)$ Local minimum $(0.58,-0.39)$ increasing $\left( -\infty ,-0.58\right) $ U $( 0.58, \infty )$ decreasing in $(-0.58,0.58)$

Work Step by Step

Using the graphing calculator (asked in question) we get the graph shown in the picture. As we see from graph there is only one local maximum $(-0.58,0.39)$ (when corrected to two decimal numbers) and one local minimum $(0.58,-0.39)$ . and as we see from graph function is increasing in domain $\left( -\infty ,-0.58\right) $ and $( 0.58, \infty )$ And decreasing in $(-0.58,0.58)$
