Thus, the function $f(x)=-|x|$ involves a reflection across the x-axis of the parent function $y=|x|$. Reflect the graph of the parent across the x-axis. This can be done by changing they-value of each point to its opposite (e.g., the point (-2, 2) will be changed to (-2, -2), the point (2, 2) will be changed to (2, -2)).
