We need to prove the identity $\sin x \sec x=\tan x$ Since, $\sec x=\dfrac{1}{\cos x}$ and $\tan x=\dfrac{\sin x}{\cos x}$ Then, we have $\sin x \times \dfrac{1}{\cos x}=\dfrac{\sin x}{\cos x}$ $=\tan x$ which is the left hand side. Thus, the identity has been proved.
