Chapter 3 - Section 3.1 - Exponential Functions - Exercise Set - Page 450: 78

Answer

An exponential function has the form $f(x)=b^{x},$ where b is called the base, and is a positive number, $ b\neq 1.$ If the base is $ e $, it is called the natural exponential function. The number $ e $ is defined as the value that $(1+\displaystyle \frac{1}{n})^{n}$ approaches as n gets very large. An approximation: $ e\approx 2.718281827$
