We are given the function: $f(x)=(x-3)^2-10$ We start graphing the parent function $a(x)=x^2$. Then horizontally shift $a(x)$ 3 units to the right to get $b(x)=(x-3)^2$. Finally, vertically shift $b(x)$ 10 units downward to get $f(x)=(x-3)^2-10$. See graphs
