Chapter 2 - Functions and Their Graphs - Chapter Review - Review Exercises - Page 114: 2

Answer

No.

Work Step by Step

A relation is a function if for all $x$ values there is exactly one corresponding $y$ value. The domain is the set of values the function can take and the range is the set of values which the function “produces” from the values of the domain. It is not a function because for $x=4$ in the first set, there are two corresponding values in the second set ($-1$ and $2$).
