We know that if a function is odd, then $f(-x)=-f(x).$ We know that if a function is even, then $f(-x)=f(x).$ For $f(x)=\sqrt x$ the domain is $(0,\infty)$, hence for $-x$, $f(-x)$ is undefined, therefore it is neither odd nor even.
