I prefer the slope-intercept form of the equation of a line $y=mx+b$ where $m$ is the slope and $b$ is the $y$-intercept because it readily gives the values of the slope and $y$-intercept, making graphing easier. The following equations refer to the same line: $4x+2y=8$ $y-2=-2(x-1)$ $y=-2x+4$ From the last one, which is in slope-intercept form, I know rightaway that the slope is $-2$ and the $y$-intercept is $4$. Same thing cannot be said about the two other forms.
