Sides MN and QP appear to be parallel.

Work Step by Step

Two parallel lines (in the same plane) never intersect. Segment MN intersects NP, they cannot be parallel. Segment NP intersects QP, they cannot be parallel. Segment QP intersects QM, they cannot be parallel. IF you extend segment QM it will intersect NP, they cannot be parallel. Even if you extend both segments MN and PQ, it appears they will not intersect. Therefore, they are parallel.
