Increasing: $-1\lt x\lt0$ or $1\lt x\lt2$ Decreasing: $-2\lt x\lt-1$ or $0\lt x\lt1$

Increasing means that as $x$ increases, $y$ also increases. This happens when $-1\lt x\lt0$ or $1\lt x\lt2$ Decreasing means that as $x$ increases, $y$ decreases. This happens when $-2\lt x\lt-1$ or $0\lt x\lt1$ Increasing: $-1\lt x\lt0$ or $1\lt x\lt2$ Decreasing: $-2\lt x\lt-1$ or $0\lt x\lt1$
