Answer

The factors of 36 are: $$ 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18, 36$$

Work Step by Step

The factors of 36 are all whole numbers that divide 36 with no remainder . In order to find the factors of 36 do the following steps : 1) Start with 1 , we have $1×36=36$ so $1, 36$ are factors . 2) Try 2 , we have $2 \times 18 = 36$ so $2 , 18$ are factors . 3) Try 3 we have $3 \times 12 = 36$ so $3, 12$ are factors . 4) Try 4 , we have $4 \times 9 = 36$ so $4,9$ are also factors . 5) 5 doesn't work , hence not a factor . 6) now try 6 , we have $ 6 \times 6 = 36$ , so $6$ is a factor . Since there are no remaining factors of 36 between 6 and 9 so we are done ! Therefore the factors of 36 are : $$ 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18, 36$$
