Answer

greatest common factor

Work Step by Step

The greatest common factor (GCF) of a set of terms is simply the largest product of the common factors of two or more terms. For example, the GCF of the terms $4x = 2 \cdot 2 \cdot x$ and $6x^2 = 2 \cdot 3 \cdot x \cdot x$ is $2x$ because $2x = 2 \cdot x$ is the greatest product of the common factors of both $4x$ and $6x^2$.
