To match a graph with an equation you want to check the slope and the y-intersect. Our equation has the slope m=-4 (the number x is multiplied by) and the y-intersect 0 (you can calculate this by setting x equal to 0. Graph 3 is the only line that has an y-intersect at 0. In this case you don't necessarily need to check the slope, but it also is right since the slope not only is negative, it also is -4 which can be calculated with the differences quotient
