There are three parts to this function: Part 1: from x = -4 to x = -1 is a horizontal line at y = 2 Part 2: From -1 to 2, line with slope of 1 and intercept 3 (the hole means that +2 is not included in the domain of that portion) Part 3: From 2 to 4 (inclusive), line with negative slope and intercept of positive 1 (if that line were carried over to the y-axis, it would intercept at 1). Considering these parts, as well as the fact that for part 2, the domain has to be open at 2, the answer has to be (A). Note that (B) has the same functions in the same ranges, but incorrectly has part 2 of the function closed at 2.
