In this case, inches per months (in/month). birch tree: $\frac{\text{2.5 in}}{\text{5 months}}$=$0.5$ in/month bean plant: $\frac{\text{8 in}}{\text{10 months}}$=$0.8$ in/month rose bush: $\frac{\text{5 in}}{\text{8 months}}$=$0.625$ in/month The bean plant grew the fastest.
