Chapter 5 - Linear Functions - 5-8 Graphing Absolute Value Functions - Lesson Check - Page 344: 4

Answer

Both graphs are of the absolute value function. The function $y=abs(x)-4$ is shifted four units down and has its vertex at (0, -4). The function $y = abs (x-4)$ is shifted four units to the right (compared to the normal absolute value function).
