Let x = the number of letter that are not "e". If $\frac{1}{8}$ of the letters are "e", that means $\frac{7}{8}$ of the letters are something else because $\frac{8}{8}-\frac{1}{8}= \frac{7}{8}$. We can the set up our equation: $$\frac{7}{8}=\frac{x}{2800}$$ If we multiply both sides by 2800, we get $$\frac{19600}{8}=x$$ Then we divide 19600 by 8 and get $$x= 2450$$
