Chapter 12 - Data Analysis and Probability - 12-3 Measures of Central Tendency and Dispersion - Mixed Review - Page 732: 49

median=22.5 range=50

Work Step by Step

You arrange the values from smallest to the greatest to get 14, 16, 22, 23, 57, 64. To find the median, you find the middle value which in this case is 22 and 23. You have to find the average between the two to find the median so $\frac{22+23}{2}$=22.5. So the median is 22.5. To find the range you subtract the smallest value from the largest value so 64-14=50. So the range is 50.
