To find the mean, we add up all of the values and divide by the total number of values. Mean: $\frac{8.2+9.3+8.5+8.8+9.0}{5} = 8.76$ To find the median, we order up all of the values from least to greatest and find the middle number. If there are an even total number of terms, then we take the average of the two terms that are closest to the middle. Median: $8.2, 8.5, 8.8, 9.0, 9.3 \rightarrow 8.8$ To find the mode, we determine the number that shows up the most. If no number shows up the most, then the mode does not exist. Mode: Does not exist There are no outliers in this data, so the mean is the best measure to describe the data.
