When we multiply fractions, we can simply multiply the numerators (tops of the fractions) by the denominators (bottoms of the fractions). Thus, we obtain: $\frac{5}{8}\times\frac{-2}{8}=\frac{-10}{ 64}=\frac{-5}{32}$
