Recall, in the coordinate plane, the x-axis is the horizontal axis and the y-axis is the vertical axis. When we see a coordinate point like (1,-2), for instance, we know that the first value listed, 1, is the x value and that the second value listed, -2, is the y value. This point indicates that we start at the origin, the point (0,0) where the x and y axis intersect, then move one unit right (on the x axis), and then move two units down (because $y=-2$). We do the same thing with all of the points listed in the problem.
