When using a perspective projection, a sphere in the scene will not produce a circle on the projection plane if the sphere is not positioned in such a way that its center lies on the same line as the center of projection and the projection plane. In other words, if the sphere is not perfectly aligned with the perspective projection, the resulting shape on the projection plane will not be a perfect circle.
