Chapter 1 - Limits, Alternatives, and Choices - Problems - Page 20: 2

Answer

Pham would work four hours at the bookstore every week.

Work Step by Step

Pham would only spend four of her fifteen available hours working at the bookstore because two of the other jobs offer her more money and also fit within her schedule. Pham would work six hours at the café because it pays twelve dollars an hour, the most out of all the jobs. Then with her remaining nine hours she would work five at the garage, the second highest paying job offer. She would be left with four hours which she would spend at the bookstore because it pays better than the daycare center.
