Survivors Club: The True Story of a Very Young Prisoner of Auschwitz Background

Survivors Club is a non-fiction book by Michael and Debbie Bornstein. Michael, the child in color on the front photograph of the book, was able to survive a horrible life at the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz. In this book, Michael details the struggles of his time there, the courage of his friends and family, and how the Soviets rescued him from the camp.

Before writing this book, Bornstein struggled with the decision to let readers know what happened to him at the camp. One of the pictures of him escaping the camp became viral, but no one, for a long time, knew that it was him. This photograph faced much controversy as well, with critics saying that Auschwitz did not house children as young as Michael was at the time of his experience.

Michael Bornstein is a famous Jewish author and activist of human rights, and is one of the youngest survivors of Nazi Germany's Auschwitz. After leading a successful scientific career, Michael is now retired and lives with his wife Judy. The two have had four children.
