Spider-Man (2002 Film) Irony

Fist Fight

Flash comes after Peter for embarrassing him in the lunch room. He tries to land multiple punches with no success. He's really trying to hurt Peter, but when Peter gets the best of him ironically one of the other bullies can't believe that Peter has hurt Flash with a punch.

Uncle Ben

Peter's powers are meant to be used for good. This all takes a turn when Uncle Ben is shot and killed. Peter seeks revenge on the suspect using his new powers, and when given the chance to catch the man or let him die Peter ironically lets him die.

Won't Give Him Up

Jameson won't give up Peter to the Green Goblin when he's threatened by him. He's protecting the reporter. Ironically, as soon as Spider-Man shows up, Jameson immediately accuses Spider-Man of being in league with the Green Goblin. The newspaper man is always out for the greatest story to sell papers, even if it means he has to create the storyline.

Web-Slinging

Peter has discovered his new powers and runs from roof to roof in the city using them. Finally, he finds out how to use his web-slinger. Ironically, his first ride doesn't end in the joy of swinging from building to building. Instead, he crashes into the brick wall of a building which proves that he's not invincible.

Peter

Jameson has hired Peter to capture images of the web-slinger, Spider-Man, as he seems to be the only one capable of getting great shots of him. Ironically, Jameson doesn't know that Peter is Spider-Man, and even more ironic is that Jameson low-balls Peter on how much he pays for the headlining shots.
