Some Time Never signals a major change for famed British author Roald Dahl. Well-known for his children's books (like The BFG), Some Time Never marks Dahl's first foray into adult literature. It tells the story of a group called the Gremlins, who ruled the Earth early in its history before being forced underground by the burgeoning human race. Upset by humanity's encroachment, the Gremlins begin a campaign to eradicate the human race.
Surprisingly, Some Time Never received very poor reviews when it was released and sold very few copies - something which continues to this day. It was, however, very historically significant because it was the first book about atomic war to be published after the end of World War II. Regardless, Some Time Never is not regarded as one of Dahl's best works.
