    Foreshadowing

    Kind of Activity:

    Group Work

    Objective:

    Students will identify instances of foreshadowing within Silas Marner.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.5

    Structure:

    As a class, define foreshadowing. If the class does not know what the term means, encourage them to think it through rather than just giving them the answer ('fore', as in 'before'; 'shadow', as in 'something that indicates the existence of something else').
