Selected Poems of Rabindranath Tagore Background

Rabindranath Tagore's Selected Poems of Rabindranath Tagore was initially published in October 2006. In this collection, there are poems from Tagore's early career (1882-1913), his middle career (1914-1936), and his late career (1937-1941). Despite operating in six different decades and two centuries, Tagore explored many of the same themes in his career. Those include how God connects with the world, the human condition, how culture and the world connects with each other, and the beauty of family.

Rabindranath Tagore is one of the most famous and well-respected poets in India, and in the world at large. Tagore's collection, entitled Selected Poems of Rabindranath Tagore, represents the best and most celebrated of Tagore's work and the reviews of his collection reflect that. The Sunday Times of London called the collection "An important book" and said that "William Radice's introduction is excellent" in their positive review of it. Other reviewers also enjoyed the book, pointing to the collection's writing, characters, and complex themes as high points of the collection.
