Tatsuya Nakadai

Lord Hidetora is played by Tatsuya Nakadai, a Japanese actor who was discovered by Masaki Kobayashi while working as a shop clerk in Tokyo. Nakadai worked with Kurosawa five times, with his first appearance in Seven Samurai. His other films include The Face of Another, When a Woman Ascends the Stairs, Kill!, The Sword of Doom, Portrait of Hell, Odd Obsession, Kagemusha, Haru's Journey, and Lear of the Beach.

Akira Terao

Akira Terao is a Japanese musician, singer, and actor. His 1981 album Reflections sold more than 1.5 million copies in Japan. As an actor he appeared twice in Kurosawa films, the other being Dreams (1990). His other films include After the Rain, The Professor's Beloved Equation, and Samayou Yaiba.

Jinpachi Nezu

Nezu is a Japanese actor who has starred in such films as Kagemusha, Farewell to the Land, Gonin, Ruby Fruit, Owls' Castle, The Man in White, and Runin: Banished.

Daisuke Ryû

Ryu is a Japanese actor of Korean descent who has appeared in such films as Kagemusha, Gojoe: Spirit War Chronicle, and The Ginger Tree.

Mieko Harada

Harada has appeared in two of Kurosawa's films: Ran and Dreams. Her other films include Lullaby of the Earth, My Sons, Begging for Love, After the Rain, Helter Skelter, and If Cats Disappeared From the World.

Peter is a Japanese singer, dancer and actor who has appeared in many different stage revues and films throughout his career. He is one of Japan's most famous openly gay performers, and he has often appeared in androgynous clothing in films. His films include Funeral Parade of Roses, Les Fruits de la passion, Death Note, and Garo: Makai Senki.
