One Day in Auschwitz Cast List

One Day in Auschwitz Cast List

Kitty

The main character of the film, Kitty is a 90 year-old woman who spent a fair portion of her teenage years in a concentration camp. She spends almost all of the documentary reminiscing about her whole life, but particularly her life in the concentration camps. In doing this, her goal is to educate previous generations not only of history, but of the perils of authoritarian government (elected or unelected).

Throughout her entire life, Kitty has retained a tremendous fire for life. She is witty, fiery, intelligent, courageous, and above all, tough - traits she needed to survive the concentration camps and traits which helped her magnificently throughout her whole life.

Michael Berenbaum

Author Michael Berenbaum has spent virtually all of his career researching, writing about, or discussing the Holocaust.

To that end, Berenbaum spends his screen time in One Day in Auschwitz discussing the Holocaust - how it started, how many people died, how it was carried out (chemicals, firing squads, etc.), and the people who were involved in it. He speaks calmly but incredibly authoritatively, as he well should, considering how much time he spent researching the horrible event.

Lydia Hollingsworth

Lydia Hollingsworth is one of the two teenagers who are featured in One Day in Auschwitz. She is incredibly intelligent and articulate, courteous and respectful, empathetic, and perhaps most importantly, has an insatiable curiosity.
