Mitchell
Mitchell, the central character to the story travels with a companion and decides to tell him a story of his last visit home. He has been away from home for eight years and the last time he visited everybody was very surprised to see him because they thought him dead. Mitchell had to promise his mother he would not leave home as long as she lived, but after one week his family ‘began to growl’ because he could not find any work to do.
