What role does Lan play in Little Dog's life?
Lan lives with Rose and Little Dog and plays a significant role in raising her grandson. She serves as a buffer between Rose and Little Dog, doing her best to protect him from Rose's abusive outbursts and tenderly treating his cuts and bruises when she is too late from preventing the violence from occurring.
