Classroom Activities

  1. 1

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-Literacy.CCRA.L.5 ; CCSS.ELA-Literacy.CCRA.L.6

It becomes increasingly clear as the play goes on that there is not much action contained in this story. Rather, this is a story of words, of revelations in the form of dialogue, and of character developments in response to those revelations. To explore this aspect of the play, have the students develop their own plans for staging Oedipus and moving through the scenes of heavy dialogue.
