Notes of a Native Son Lesson Plan

Bringing in Technology

Throughout the study of Notes of a Native Son, students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, and text-to-speech software for reading assignments, or any other ADA-mandated technological accommodations.

-In one of the Day 1 homework assignments, students will use audio or video recording technology to conduct personal interviews with people alive during the 1960s.

-In the Day 1 classroom activity, “Baldwin’s Rhetorical Strategy,” students may submit feedback on their peers' performances in written form on a class blog or shared document.
