Rosie
The mother of the seven Vincent children. She is in an unhappy marriage with Gus, where she gets verbally abused but is still a caring mother towards all her children.
Gus
Gus is portrayed as the father who gives no care towards his wife and children. He is displayed as selfish and only wanting to make his life easier. He rarely shows emotions towards the children except for irritation. He is also very rude to Rosie.
Vincent Children
There are seven Vincent children: Caitlin, Sophie, Delilah, Gus, Sherman, Chicky, and Minnie. The kids each have their own lives throughout the book and have a hard time gaining attention from their father. This creates personal issues for each child, especially after the kids see how their father treats their mother.
Kittredge
Rosie cheats on Gus with Kittredge, which she is soon discovered to have a child with.
Miranda
This is Rosie's baby with Kittredge.
