Michael Vey
The titular character and protagonist: a fifteen-year-old with electric powers, Michael can control electricity and electric energy. He has a strong moral compass and puts others before himself; he's doing his best to stop Dr. Hatch from taking over the world or ruining any more lives.
Taylor
Michael's girlfriend, Taylor also has electric powers: she has the ability to shock the mind into forgetfulness or unconsciousness. She can also read minds when in physical contact with a person. She is kind and selfless, acting as a comforter to many in the Electroclan throughout the series.
Ostin
Michael's best friend and resident genius; he is incredibly smart and provides the group with the majority of their random trivia and escape strategies.
Jade Dragon
A nine-year-old Chinese girl, an autistic savant who cracked the code of creating more electric children. Hatch captures her and kills her parents, and the Electroclan needs to rescue her before Hatch uses her to make more Glows.
Dr. Hatch
The main antagonist of the series, Dr. Hatch is a madman with a superiority complex; he attempts to use his electric students to take over the world. He enjoys torturing and maltreating people for his own gain, and he is not above manipulation and deceit to obtain what he desires.
Torstyn
One of Hatch's loyal Glows, Torstyn has the ability to superheat any kind of liquid. He's dangerous and disrespectful, and he leads the members of the Elgen Academy into further irreverence.
