Bringing in Technology

Several filmmakers have taken on the task of adapting Macbeth, some in more abstract ways than others. Two of the most significant Macbeth-related films, Orson Welles' adaptation of the play and Akiro Kurosawa's Throne of Blood, are included in these lesson plans; students who are interested should be encouraged to explore the films and all their "extras," looking into the changes between the cinematic technology Kurosawa and Welles used and filmmaking today.
