Daniel Day-Lewis
Daniel Day-Lewis is arguably the best actor of all time. He is known for his total immersion into a role and has been nominated for an Academy Award five times, winning three times for Lincoln, There Will Be Blood, and My Left Foot. He is married to filmmaker Rebecca Miller, the daughter of the playwright Arthur Miller.
Emma Thompson
Emma Thompson began acting in sketch comedy while at Cambridge. She was the first woman invited into Footlights, the university's prestigious troupe. After graduating she went on to perform in theatre and British television before making her feature film debut in 1989s The Tall Guy. She would continue to build her career working in all genres as an actress as well as writing Sense and Sensibility which earned her a Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar. She is the only person in history to win an Oscar for both writing and acting. She is also well known for her roles in the Harry Potter and Nanny McPhee film franchises.
Pete Postlethwaite
Pete Postlethwaite started to train as a Catholic priest before deciding to become an actor. He was trained in the theatre and made his mark in British television in the 1980s before earning an Academy Award nomination for playing Giuseppe in In the Name of the Father. Postlethwaite has appeared in over 100 roles in film and television including Inception, The Usual Suspects, The Town, Amistad, Romeo + Juliet and The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
