Objective:
to concretize the student's understanding of the effects of medium on storytelling and theme
Common Core Standards:
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.1
Structure:
Today the students will produce their own version of one of the poems in for colored girls. In light of what they argued in the previous day, ask them to decide if they would rather stage a scene or shoot one. With their preferences in mind, divide the students into groups of 3-5.
The students can stage or film any poem they choose, but they have to find a way to involve each student in the performance, even if they are in nonspeaking roles....
