How is doubling used in the story, A Yellow Flower?

Doubling is the existence of two characters that are unified by their similarities. In the story, A Yellow Flower, the narrator and Luc are united in this way. Luc functions as a stunt double of the narrator, and the narrator believes that the similarities that unite them imply that his life was going to be repeated, that there was a cycle of immortality. Immortality would be the repetition of facts, virtues, qualities, failures and enjoyments in other people.
