    What are some popular games that you like to play? Do any of them cast you, the player, into a particular role or type? Does assuming this role teach you anything, intentionally or un-?

    Students should be reflective about this question and delve past the obvious. For example, playing Oregon Trail casts you as a pioneer, and thus is implicitly approving of the Westward Expansion of Americans into Native American territory. Think about who the game you played made the hero, who is made the villain, and who is made invisible.
