Family
Family is the end goal for a lot of these characters. For one, Jesper is desperate to get access to money so that he can save the farm. Meanwhile, Inej is determined to be reunited with her family. In the end, the gang manage to find family in the form of each other and become a makeshift gang of siblings who would do anything for each other.
Revenge
Wylan is ready to exact revenge on his family, especially his father, and he can only do this by finding Van Eck’s property records. Additionally, Kaz wants to destroy Van Eck’s sugar silo business after he had kept her captive her and left her with the trauma of being tortured.
Magic
Magic is seen through the form of the fictional land of Grisha. Many individuals have been adorned with magical abilities, with Nina being able to manipulate the Earth. Moreover, the prophecy reveals that one can control Grisha if they can access Kuwei, which serves to be the basis of Van Eck’s attacks to prevent the gang from reaching the Kuwei first.
